As the events industry slowly emerges from this disruptive period, we at Dryland in conjunction with government, local authorities and the various sporting codes are working very hard behind the scenes to ensure that we comply with all the relevant regulations. We are making decisions in real-time and these are based on information and feedback we receive from the authorities and are always done by keeping everyone’s best interest at heart.
The primary objective is to ensure the safety of our athletes and staff, but at the same time, amidst these risk-mitigating measures, we also want to guarantee that everyone taking part in one of our events is still treated to that authentic professionalism, hospitality and unique Dryland experience.
The re-opening of the events calendar is slowly but surely unfolding and according to the current rules and regulations, the 36ONE MTB Challenge 2020 will be able to take place.
We cannot wait to welcome you back on our trails.
We urge one and all to join us on this journey of events.
South Africa’s ultimate mountain bike race. You have a maximum of 36.1 hours to complete the beast. If you aren’t up to the full 36ONE Challenge you can take on The Half.
The 36One MTB Challenge
Well done to a phenomenal organising Team! A tough race, both mentally and physically, Rooiberg is hard but don’t underestimate the stretch from Calitzdorp back to Oudtshoorn,…it will take every bit of mental fitness!! Thanks to Bernard le Roux, Henco and team! World Class!
Riding in the Karoo for 24hrs… there were MANY highs and lows. Being able to ride throughout the night with a full moon & seeing the sunrise – Incredible!
At that specific moment I was exactly where I was supposed to be – in the mountains, on my bike, with friends, doing something that most people think is crazy. My soul searched for a challenge and the 36ONE fulfils that in every sense. You left a bitter sweet taste this time, but I will be back for more pain and suffering. Until next year. Yeeeaaaahhhwwww!
Faultless organisation. Incredible checkpoints, water tables and support all along the route. All around excellence. Toughest race I have ever entered. Can’t recommend the team at Dryland event management and everyone involved in the 36one challenge highly enough. I’ll be back for certain!
Being in one of the last groups that finished, I can only say that it was an excellent day (and night) out and the marshals, roving medics and all the people at the water points were friendly and looked after us as if we were pro’s.
Die mense van Mount Hope – julle het gerock!
Rooiberg se braaibroodjie was ‘n wenner!

There are many similarities between cycling and investing. Both require focus, dedication, passion, preparation and hard work in order to achieve success. The event provides an opportunity for riders to participate in this exciting race, whether competing alone, as part of a team or in a relay. At the same time, this event allows us to give back to the local community. As a South African asset management firm, our business is investing in South African companies. It is therefore in our best interests to do what we can to ensure the continued success of our country. Contributing to charity and assisting local communities is an essential component of nurturing sustainability in South Africa.
